Israeli farmers from across the country recently volunteered in an operation to feed 350 families in Hadera and northern surrounding cities by donating a ton and half of beef for the upcoming High Holidays.

The project, led by the organization, "Orna Haim", and the director of the farm in Kibbutz Givat Haim (Meuchad) near Hadera, joined with farmers from different regions in contributing their beef in the joint effort.

Farms linked to the project include: Geva, Gan Shmuel, Ein Shemer, Beit Zera, Ramot Menashe, Heftziba, Barkai, Ein Hakhoresh, Nir farm in the Carmel in cooperation with Moshav Nir Etzion and Kibbutz Ein Carmel, Sharon farm in cooperation with Kibbutzim Ga’ash, Shefayim, Yakum, and other farms.

Alon Hazan, a livestock trader, will contribute by transporting the cows from the farm, free of charge. Additionally, Hazan informed that he will prepare the beef in packages of 2, 3, and 5 kilograms respectively.

The meat will be packaged and delivered to the Israeli organization “Ahavat Rachamim” in Hadera, which is managed by Shimon Asbag. The organization will then direct the distribution of the food to needy families in Hadera and surrounding areas accordingly.

Evyatar Dotan, Secretary General of Israel Cattle Breeder's Association, praised Orna Haim for initiating this large donation designed to provide meat for families in need on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. He stressed that “this tradition of distributing meat by farmers to needy families is in part a communal contribution.”
