Terrorist \"refugees\" from Osama Bin Laden\'s al-Qaeda group are being given shelter in Syria and Syrian-occupied Lebanon. Maj.-Gen. Aharon Ze\'evi (Farkash), head of IDF Intelligence, told as much to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee this week. As if to confirm this, the State Department\'s latest annual report on terrorism-sponsoring regimes notes that Bin-Laden\'s al-Qaeda network maintained a presence in Lebanon. Damascus Radio declared on September 21, 2001: \"Before speaking about an international coalition for struggling [against] terrorism, there must be an end to the Israeli terrorism... It is necessary to make distinctions between terrorism and the legitimate resistance of the occupation.\"

Morton A. Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America, called for American action against Syria: \"Syria has once again demonstrated that it is America\'s enemy,\" he said, \"and no regime that shelters Bin Laden terrorists should be immune from American military action.\"
