Benny Katzover, chairman of the grassroots Samaria Residents' Council, accused Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Sunday of failing to follow up on his own promises of construction in Judea and Samaria.

Katzover was incensed by the fact that Netanyahu chose the inauguration of a school named for his late father to condemn Jewish nationalist vandalism attacks, generally known as “price tag” attacks. Netanyahu is carrying out a “reverse diplomatic 'price tag' attack,” said Katzover, by freezing construction in Judea and Samaria.

Katzover said that he fails to understand why Netanyahu “is making a big deal out of an act of stupidity that we all dislike, while he freezes construction.”

He added that while Netanyahu promised that his government would carry out construction in the E-1 area east of Jerusalem as a response to the Palestinian Authority's unilateral move to receive recognition in the United Nations, he is in fact doing the opposite by freezing construction.

Katzover said in response to a question that inviting Netanyahu to speak at the inauguration of the school at Barkan, in Samaria, was “the polite thing to do” because the school is named after Netanyahu's father, Ben Tzion Netanayhu.
