The much-touted \"re-conquest\" of Tul Karem ended this morning, less than 30 hours after it began. The forces destroyed terrorist infrastructures, collected much valuable information, and arrested close to 50 wanted terrorists, many of them according to a prepared list. Tanks began leaving Tul Karem early this morning, but they re-deployed around the city, keeping it encircled. Several other PA-controlled cities are similarly surrounded.
Arutz-7 correspondent Haggai Huberman explained that the Tul Karem initiative did not end earlier than planned: \"The army never specified a certain amount of time that it would remain there - only the media did. An official IDF statement of this morning says that its goals were achieved, that much material, including information and arms, was found, and many arrests were made.\"
Southern Binyamin, an area that had been relatively quiet for the past few months, saw several attempted murders last night and this morning: Terrorists shot at a bus near Beit El, and earlier at an army jeep in the same area. Last night, Psagot was targeted by gunfire. A soldier was gravely wounded in a battle in a Ramallah neighborhood early this afternoon.
