Promoter Shuki Weiss has had to add a second show to accommodate the multitudes who want to see renowned vocalist Barbra Streisand perform in June at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv-Yafo (Jaffa).

Tickets for the first show, set for June 20, were sold out last month within the first half hour, with only a handful of premium seats at a price of NIS 3,400, left available for those who have waited years to see the elusive Streisand, now age 70.

The second show, scheduled June 22, motzei Shabbat at 9:15 p.m., will be the finishing touch on Streisand’s European tour and comes two days after a private performance to be held in honor of President Shimon Peres’s birthday.

That concert, to be held at the Presidential Conference in Jerusalem, promises to be a unique experience for participants at a star-studded event always attended by international policy makers.

Streisand has won every honor and award that exists in the entertainment industry over her 50 year career. The list includes five Emmys, two Oscars and eight Grammys, as well as 140 million records sold worldwide.

She is expected to be joined on stage by special guest trumpeter Chris Botti, as well as her son Jason Gould, and sister Roslyn Kind.
