Former Head of IDF Military Intelligence, Amos Yadlin, spoke at the annual AIPAC conference in Washington on Monday, combining understanding with urgency with regards to the Iranian nuclear issue and the differences between the U.S. and Israeli approach to the prevalent threat.

“2012 passed with giving more time…the time is running out in 2013," said Yadlin.

He relayed to the crowd the main differences between Israel and the United States vis a vis how to deal with Iran, saying the discrepancies could be summed up by "three T's."

"A different trauma, a different trigger, and maybe not enough trust,” said Yadlin.

“We, the Israelis, come with the Holocaust. We are six million Israeli Jews listening to Ahmadinejad calling for Israel’s destruction. You come with a different trauma, Iraq. You don’t want another war, understandably,” he said.

“This is not a war, this is a one-night operation, and we should speak about it," he added. "We should be much closer on how to prevent Iran from being nuclear."
