Hamas is not impressed by the coalition agreement signed this week by MK Tzipi Livni, leader of the self-styled "centrist" Hatnua party, and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, wrote on his personal Facebook page that Livni’s appointment is an expression of the “failure of negotiations. "

"The appointment by war criminal [Binyamin] Netanyahu of [Tzipi] Livni -- the most wanted war criminal of the international arena for her crimes against the Palestinian people -- to bring about peace with the Palestinian Authority, outlines the next phase, puts and end to the arrangements and stresses the failure of the option of negotiations," said Barhoum, who has, in the past, referred repeatedly to both Prime Minister Netanyahu and MK Livni as war criminals.

On Tuesday, Netanyahu and Livni announced that they would be joining forces in the next government in order to focus on Israel’s diplomatic and security challenges, with an emphasis on Iran’s nuclear program and "peace talks" with the Palestinian Authority.
