The IDF\'s Egoz commando unit, on a mission last night in an Arab village under Israeli security control near Shechem, encountered an armed Arab terrorist and killed him in the ensuing gun battle. The dead man was later identified as senior Tanzim leader Hamid Abdullah, who was among those responsible for the murder of one of the first Oslo War casualties, Rabbi Binyamin Herling. Abdullah was also behind the killing of many suspected Arab informers.



An elite undercover unit operating near Bethlehem this afternoon arrested Ali Jarashi, a senior commander in the PA\'s naval force. It was PA navy staffers who looked on passively two days ago as Avi Boaz, 72, was abducted by his murderers at a PA checkpoint.



Palestinian terrorists shot at two Israeli vehicles in the Shomron this afternoon, causing damage but no injuries. The incidents occurred north of Sa-Nur and south of Chomesh, respectively. Also today, Arabs stoned and damaged a bus in eastern Jerusalem, and hurled grenades at an IDF patrol near the Israeli-Egyptian border.
