Faramarz Kashi completed three years in Iranian prison and was reunited with his family on Tuesday. Kashi was one of the \"Iranian 10\" Jews who \"confessed\" on charges of spying for Israel in July 2000 and received sentences ranging from 2-9 years. Kashi is the second to be released. The Conference Of Presidents Of Major American Jewish Organizations welcomed the release and called for the immediate release of the other Jewish prisoners. Included in a press statement from the conference of Presidents was the following: \"The trial, which was widely covered in western media, violated every norm of judicial practice and standard of civil rights. Mr. Kashi is the second prisoner to have been released, although all are now eligible under Iranian law. We call on the government of Iran to immediately release the remaining prisoners who have been incarcerated far too long for crimes they did not commit. An appeal to the Supreme Leader has been pending for a year without action.\"
