IDF Judea & Samaria Division Commander Brig.-Gen. Gershon Yitzchak announced today that the PLO knows the identity of the Arabs who perpetrated last night\'s murder of Yoela Chen near Givat Ze\'ev. The senior officer said that the PLO had earlier reported that these same terrorists were behind bars. Yitzchak noted that earlier in the week, Fatah commander Raed Karmi, who was killed in his car last week - apparently when a bomb he was transporting prematurely exploded - had also been reported by the PA to be behind bars. The PLO has failed to explain how Karmi was traveling in his car in Tul Karem after Arab officials had earlier told European Union representatives that he was sitting in one of their prisons.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Sha\'ul Mofaz told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee yesterday of renewed intelligence terrorist warnings, both for inside pre-1967 Israel and Yesha areas. Police Chief Shlomo Aharonishki echoed these evaluations today, and said that police forces had been beefed up. The army brought heavy forces to the area of Kalkilye this afternoon in light of the warnings. Mofaz also reported that the PA was investing heavily in the development of the Kassim-2 rocket with a range of 7-8 kilometers (some 4.5 miles). Mofaz said that the weapon is intended to attack Israeli population centers as well as airports. \"The day they deploy them is not far off,\" he told the Knesset Members.
