The Israeli army has once again destroyed the runways of the Palestinian Authority\'s airport in Gaza, in partial response to Wednesday\'s fatal PA attack in which four IDF soldiers were killed. The army previously demolished the runways over five weeks ago, following a four-day wave of terrorism in which 30 Israelis were killed in Jerusalem, Haifa and elsewhere. However, Southern Region Commander Maj.-Gen. Doron Almog, acting on his own volition, allowed the Palestinians to rebuild the runways about two weeks ago.
Government sources admitted to Ynet news service, \"There is no logic in allowing the airport to be rebuilt and then destroying it again - but then again, the only logic in the war against terror is to make quite clear the price to be exacted from those who attempt to terrorize us...\" The sources said that the army is engaged in a tactic \"similar to those found in a [drug-]rehabilitation program: You give positive reinforcements when appropriate, and exact a heavy price when necessary.\"
