The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz, visited the Gaza Division this morning, followng the escalation in the region. It appeared, however, that the IDF has relatively little to offer the beleaguered residents terrorized for years by Gaza rocket fire targeting them.

Gantz was accompanied by Southern Command Head, Major General Tal Russo, and Gaza Division Commander, Brigadier General Yossi Bachar. They inspected the damage caused by missiles fired at the Gaza Belt in the last 24 hours.

The Chief of Staff then held a situation assessment to discuss the IDF's response to the escalation.

Armored IDF forces attacked targets in Gaza this morning, in retaliation for the rocket attacks. In addition, the Air Force attacked an area that serves for rocket fire in northern Gaza, and fired at a terror team in southern Gaza immediately after it fired rockets at Israel.
