Three Palestinian terrorist bombings were thwarted this morning, but one suicide terrorist did succeed in murdering two Israeli high school students. Wearing a bomb pack on his person, the terrorist blew himself up near a group of students waiting for their bulletproof schoolbus outside Moshav N\'vei Yamin (east of Hod HaSharon and Kfar Saba). Two of them were killed, a third was very critically hurt, and another is in moderate condition. Two other students were \"lightly\" wounded by the bombing. Shmuel Friedman, a fellow student and eye-witness, told Arutz-7:
\"I was standing at the busstop with my back to another group of students, a short distance away. Suddenly, I heard a big blast - I turned around and saw bodies on the ground and blood.\"




The two victims are Eliran Rosenberg, 15, from Givat Shmuel, and Naftali Lantzkoren, 14, of Petach Tikvah. The two Jewish youth study at Yeshivat Bnei Chayil in Kedumim. Esther Karish, whose son studies in the school, told Arutz-7 today that Bnei Chayil is a \"very small school, where everyone is like one big family... The teachers are meeting with the students today; there is much pain, frustration, anger, and crying.\" Eliran\'s funeral left at 4:30 this afternoon for Petach Tikvah\'s Segulah cemetery. Naftali will be laid to rest there at 9:30 AM tomorrow.



Arab terrorists also placed three other bombs in public places in Netanya and Petach Tikva this morning, but the explosives were discovered and safely neutralized after alert citizens noticed the packages and called police. One package was found in a bag close to the site where a similar bomb exploded in Netanya several weeks ago. In Petach Tikva, a bomb was found inside a box of cookies. A witness told Arutz-7 what happened:

\"Someone offered a store-owner near the open market a box of cookies. The store-owner took the box, and felt that it was heavier than usual. He opened it, removed the top layer of cookies, and saw an explosive with lots of nails inside. He left it and quickly called the police, who told everyone in the vicinity to get away. The police then safely blew up the bomb. It turns out that the man who brought the cookies found it in his yard; not suspecting anything, he brought it to the market...\"
Police have been called to various other locations to investigate possible bomb threats, and continue to remind the public to be extra alert and to call them upon finding any suspicious objects.



MK Michael Kleiner, who split off from the National Union party to become a one-man Knesset faction several months ago, calls on the government to liberate territories from the Palestinian Authority. \"There is no other alternative,\" Kleiner said today. Rabbi Zalman Melamed, Chief Rabbi of Beit El and a leading figure of the Yesha Rabbinical Council, met with MK Rabbi Binyamin Elon of the Ichud Leumi/Yisrael Beiteinu faction in the Knesset, calling upon them to do everything within their power to topple the Sharon government. In a talk with an Arutz-7 correspondent, Rabbi Melamed said, \"I don\'t think that Sharon will have the strength to wage the war the way he promised.\" Rabbi Melamed was asked, \"But Sharon has explained that he is simply waiting for the Arab League summit to end...?\" Rabbi Melamed:
\"He has already begun to prepare his next excuse, that [U.S. President] Bush has asked him to wait for the U.S. to try something to end the terrorism...\"




Even Meretz leader MK Yossi Sarid has adopted a hawkish tone against Yasser Arafat. Speaking from the Knesset podium today, the opposition leader said:
\"It\'s about time that you [Arafat] stop your grotesque and pathetic appearances, showing up at world forums and waving purported American documents with totally contrived accusations about enriched uranium attacks. In fact, you should stop flying around from country to country altogether, and just remain in Gaza and Ramallah and start bringing some order, because this anarchy is causing great tragedy to both sides… Don\'t make us suspect that you are more interested in the armed struggle than in the Palestinian state itself… Everything we tried to build here will fall apart, and you will find yourself under the ruins...\"




PA Propaganda Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo said today that the Israeli government is responsible for the victims on both sides and \"Israel must pay the price of these crimes… The Israeli government is one of monsters, it is a government of war that is thirsty for blood. Lasting peace cannot be attained with a government like this one.\"



Prime Minister Sharon said today, \"Yasser Arafat was, and remains, a terrorist leader.\"
