A bullet penetrated the window of a private home in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Ze\'ev this afternoon. The shooter is believed to have been standing in the nearby Arab village Shu\'afat. No injuries were reported. The police are investigating.
The ISA (Israel Security Agency - formerly called the GSS) and Israel Police successfully thwarted an effort to smuggle weapons from Syria to the PLO Autonomy, via the Golan Heights. Five very powerful, explosive devices were seized along with 15 grenades and other weapons accessories. A resident of the Israeli Druze village of Majdal Shams was taken into custody, suspected of involvement in the smuggling attempt. Several other arrests have been made.
