The heavy rains over the last 24 hours have added 16 million cubic meters of water to the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) raising its level by 6 centimeters. The Kinneret is Israel\'s largest source of fresh water. Since the beginning of the rainy season, the water level has risen by 30 centimeters. The lake authority said that in the coming days, water pouring from streams in the surrounding hills should raise the level even more. Despite the above, Israel\'s water situation is still grave, and much more rain is needed. The Kinneret must rise 6 meters in order to reach the maximum level.
