Residents of the Samaria communities that Lior Farhi died by protecting held a protest on the road near the Arab town of Azoon Monday. They said that they want to finish what Farhi started, and convince the IDF to take tough measures against infiltration through the security fence that is supposed to stop infiltration from the Palestinian Authority.
Ariel Weiss of Elkana told Arutz Sheva: "Lior was here on a mission, of closing the holes in the fence… We are here to continue his mission. And in fact – no one passed through the holes today. We don't know if it's because of us. We want this to continue so that no one passes at all."
However, another resident of the region spoke to Arutz Sheva Monday morning and said that he saw Arabs passing through holes in the fence this morning, as if nothing had happened. He asked, "How many deaths like these will it take for the government to solve the problem?"
Weiss said that the residents blame the government, which "demeans the IDF soldiers who play cat-and-mouse with the infiltrators and do not give the IDF the budget it requires."
