A white supremacist couple accused of murdering four people last year in a 10-day crime spree on the West Coast will return to Oregon to face a host of federal charges, including kidnapping, racketeering and fraud.
Holly Ann Grigsby, 25, and her boyfriend David Joseph “Joey” Pedersen, 32, are accused of promoting and funding a movement to “purify” and “preserve the white race” through murder, according to a 15-count indictment unsealed Friday in Portland.
Federal prosecutors say Pedersen and Grigsby funded their white-power movement with credit cards stolen from their victims, and used their stolen cars to travel from one state to another, The Seattle Times reported.
“The indictment in this case alleges horrendous crimes were committed as part of defendants’ white-supremacist campaign to kidnap and murder targets on the basis of race, color, religion, and perceived 'degenerate' conduct,” said U.S. Attorney Amanda Marshall.
They were arrested in October 2011 after allegedly killing Pedersen’s father, stepmother and two strangers, including 19-year old Cody Myers, in a killing spree that spanned California, Washington and Oregon.
Grigsby reportedly told investigators that they shot the Oregon man “because his last name made them think he was Jewish,” according to court documents.
They are also charged with targeting Jewish leaders, members of prominent Jewish organizations, and other “Zionists,” and using the media to publicize their movement in an attempt to spark a revolution, according to a Seattle newspaper.
