Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced the state budget would be put before the Knesset for approval on Wednesday. Shas said that all 17 of its Knesset members will vote against it.
Snow is falling in high areas of Israel including the Golan Heights, Mt. Hermon, the Galilee, and Gush Etzion. Jerusalem is preparing for snow removal operations. Tel Aviv City Hall declared a weather alert in anticipation of heavy rains expected later today. Police are on hand with rubber rafts, and main drainage collection centers are being cleaned ahead of the storm.
