Whoever left a duffel bag at a Florida synagogue scared the dickens out of its rabbi. A bomb squad investigated and found the suspected bomb bag to be full of nothing other than religious books.

Everyone in the Young Israel of Boca Raton synagogue was evacuated 8:30 Sunday morning after the duffel bag was discovered, according to the local WPTV station.

The Palm Beach County Sherriff’s office bomb squad, accompanied by a fire rescue special operations truck, rushed to the scene to examine the suspicious duffel bag

Meanwhile, the local K-9 unit sniffed around the neighborhood for possible terrorists or explosives.

The duffel bag turned out to be full of religious books that someone apparently had dropped as a donation for synagogue use.

Young Israel Rabbi Eliyahu Rabovsky is not sorry that the panic button was pushed. "There used to be a time where you didn't have to worry about what was being dropped off at the door. In this day and age you have to. You can't be too cautious,” he told the television station.

However, he suggested that anyone else who wants to donate books make sure that the cartons or bags are not left outside the building.
