The Knesset passed the preliminary reading of a proposal yesterday, that if approved will halt National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) pension payments to the families of terrorists killed or maimed while carrying out terror attacks. The new legislation, introduced by MK Zvi Hendel (Naitional Union) received the support of 32 MKs including Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Eleven MKs from the Arab factions and Mossi Raz of Meretz voted against the bill.
