Shooting victim 47-year-old Vitali Binus of Karnei Shomron came out of a week-long coma on Sunday. “I don’t believe I am alive. I thought I was finished,” were his first words. On the night of December 24th, Binus was machine-gunned by Arabs while driving his vehicle east of Kfar Saba. He managed to shoot and kill one of his would-be murderers and wound a second before losing consciousness. Doctors treating Binus in Hadera’s Hillel Yafeh Hospital, who initially were not optimistic about his recovery, have now upgraded his condition to moderate. Binus has also begun breathing without mechanical assistance.
16-year-old Eran Mizrachi, who was injured in the Dec. 1 triple bombing on Jerusalem’s Ben-Yehuda Street, is reported in extremely critical condition in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem. Internal bleeding in his head brought about a swift decline in his condition. He underwent surgery to stop the bleeding. Four other victims from the same attack are hospitalized in Hadassah Hospital: Lauren Blum, Vered Bahat, Adi Chujah, and Sharon Maman. They are in moderate or serious condition.
