The Moskowitz Prize for Zionism will be awarded tonight, Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at Ir David. The ceremony will be carried live on Arutz Sheva.
One of this year's recipients, Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, and the organization she heads – Shurat HaDin (Israel Law Center) – won a $323 million judgment in a U.S. court against Iran and Syria last week. The lawsuit concerned the countries' support for terrorists who killed an American teenager and ten others in a 2006 bombing.
Darshan-Leitner fights against terrorist "lawfare" and has won hundreds of millions of dollars for terror victims in lawsuits against Muslim terror groups.
The Moskowitz Prize for Zionism, founded by Dr. Irving and Cherna Moskowitz, was first awarded in 2008. It was established in recognition of the people who put Zionism into action in today's Israeli society – at times risking their own personal security, placing the collective interest before personal needs, and doing what it takes to ensure a strong, secure Jewish homeland.
