The grassroots Samaria (Shomron) Residents Council has used a newspaper ad to directly appeal to U.S. supporters of Magen David Adom (MDA) to withhold donations, because of a pact with the Red Cross requiring MDA to remove Jewish symbols from its ambulances in Judea and Samaria.

The agreement also applies to Magen David vehicles and rescue and ambulance stations in parts of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinian Authority.

The Residents Council published the advertisement in an edition of the Jerusalem Post distributed at a conference the newspaper held in New York, partly sponsored by MDA. The newspaper advertisement spelled out for readers, many of whom contribute to MDA, details of the agreement.

The ad also cited quotations from Israeli media and from a Red Cross official confirming the agreement, which MDA originally denied before Arutz Sheva exposed it.

Residents’ Council chairman Benny Katzover said it will continue its campaign against the agreement until Magen David Adom cancels the pact and returns the Star of David symbol to its ambulances and clothing.
