The chances that MK Tzipi Livni will be reelected to head Kadima are becoming slimmer as yet another Knesset Member – Dalia Itzik – is joining the camp of Livni's main rival for leadership, MK Shaul Mofaz. Itzik was Livni's ally and confidante for years.

Sources in the Kadima faction told Arutz Sheva that MK Itzik, who is Kadima's Knesset faction chairman, will apparently announce her support for Mofaz later today.

Itzik is the last remaining faction member who has not yet announced whom she will support in the primaries that are to be held on March 29. She is expected to break her silence after Monday's faction meeting.

Mofaz now has a solid majority of supporters within the faction. This gives him a meaningful advantage over Livni in the primaries, as well. The Mofaz camp is now placing pressure on MK Avi Dichter to withdraw his candidacy and ensure that Mofaz succeeds in unseating Livni.

Livni challenged Mofaz and Dichter to a televised debate, by means of a status update published on her Facebook page last night. The two have not responded.
