Jules Stern, a participant at the AIPAC Policy Conference being held in Washington, gave an interview to Arutz Sheva on Monday.

Stern spoke of his long-time commitment and interest in Israel and gave his impression of the AIPAC conference.

“My interests in Israel go back to my days when I was a student at a yeshiva, collecting money for the Jewish National Fund in a blue box,” Stern said. “I’m very much involved in Israel Bonds.”

Stern, who also attended the AIPAC conference last year, said that he made reservations for this year’s conference “because I was so impressed by the conference and by the people who spoke and attended.”

He said that the increase in the number of attendees from last year (10,000) to this year (13,000) reflects the fact “that there’s a greater interest between the United States and Israel to cooperate.”

Stern responded to President Barack Obama’s speech at the conference and said, “My concerns are that so much of what the President says has to do with the forthcoming election, and I want to be certain that what he says will be fulfilled if he is elected.”

“He did not give a green light to Israel (to attack Iran),” he added. “I would have preferred if he would have said that an attack on Israel is an attack on the United States. That’s what I was looking for, but obviously this did not come forth from him.”
