An Israeli participating in a march last night around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem sustained light head wounds from rocks thrown by Arab assailants. He had just finished a seminar in Jerusalem’s Old City on the topic of the Temple Mount, which was attended by one thousand people including many rabbis and students. Elon Moreh Chief Rabbi Elyakim Levanon told Arutz Sheva that the large turnout, relative to the small groups that attended such events in the past, proves that the awareness of the Temple Mount is increasing among the public. The participants heard ideas related to the significance of the Mount and the halachic ramifications of entering the area where the Temple stood. The seminar and subsequent march was organized by “El Har Hamor” and was a forum for calling upon the government to permit Jews to pray on the Mount and to prevent further destruction of Temple Mount antiquities by the Muslim Waqf.
