IDF Sergeant (res.) Michael Sidbon, 23, of Beit Shemesh, will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. today in the Ashdod military cemetery. Sidbon was a combat medic who ran - under fire - to administer first aid to his wounded comrades along the Jordanian border on Tuesday morning. He managed to phone his wife just before to say that he was embarking on a dangerous mission. He was shot in the course of treating the wounded and later died of his wounds. Sidbon and his wife had just purchased their first home in the town of Bet Shemesh. Three other soldiers remain hospitalized: two are listed in serious condition, and one is lightly wounded. He is expected to be released in the coming days.
