Following an investigation, Israel Police recommended indicting the owner of Photo Allen, Elchanan Ben-Chakun, on charges of negligent manslaughter after he pushed Rabbi Yehudah Samet during a confrontation with religious Hareidi protesters in front of his video shop. The 70-year-old rabbi fell, was seriously injured and later died of his wounds. The whole incident was recorded on video tape. The police recommendation has been transferred to the district attorney for a final decision on filing charges.
Bassam El-Haram, a Bedouin IDF reserves officer, and an accomplice were arrested on suspicion of selling IDF weapons to Arabs in Gaza. In his interrogation, the officer admitted that he intended to make an additional sale of arms.
