Arabs shot and wounded two Israeli soldiers in the northern Beit Shean Valley along the Jordanian border this morning. One of them, an IDF tracker, was shot in the head and is reported in serious condition. He was airlifted to an area hospital. The shooting took place near the community of Beit Yosef. Initially Israeli security services combed the border area for signs of an infiltration from Jordan, but when it became clear that the attacker shot from inside the Hashemite Kingdom, a chase into Jordan began.
This morning\'s shooting is the second attack against an Israeli in the last 24 hours. Yesterday afternoon Arabs shot 47-year-old Vitali Binus of Karnei Shomron as he drove east of Netanya, between Shavei Shomron and Einav. Binus remains in critical but stable condition this morning. He did manage to shoot and kill one of his attackers, but suffered from a number of wounds to the chest and abdomen after his car was riddled with 35 bullets.
