A suicide bombing was prevented in Haifa last night. The city was put on high alert yesterday afternoon, as a result of specific intelligence warnings of a suicide bomber loose in the city. The massive police and army manhunt led to the capture of two Arab terrorists, who were on their way to carry out a bombing attack against civilians. Police announced the arrest of the two terrorists today.

There were no injuries reported, but one vehicle was damaged in the attack. Later in the night, Arabs fired at Israel Defense Force positions at nearby Neve-Dekalim and Rafiach. The soldiers returned fire. An additional gun battle took place further south near Gadid. No injuries were reported in any of these shootings.
