There were several Arab attacks against IDF targets last night and this morning, although no one was hurt. Two firebombs were hurled at Yeshivat Beit Orot near Hebrew University in eastern Jerusalem last night; one caught fire, but no damage was caused. The Al-Aqsa Brigades of the Fatah militia released a statement over the weekend declaring that the terrorist war against Israel would continue. The organization distributed a flyer calling on the Arabs to prepare for an intensification of the confrontation with Israeli soldiers and civilians.
A terrorist drive-by shooting was perpetrated against an army vehicle in the Shomron, near Shavei Shomron, this afternoon. No one was hurt, and the attackers escaped towards the Arab village of Ramin. Fire was also directed from Shechem towards the IDF position on Mt. Eval. Arabs also threw an explosive at another Israeli car in the region.
PA officials arrested two leading Islamic Jihad officials last night, although today they announced that they were relocating some of the arrested terrorists out of Gaza. They cited their fear that Israel might bomb the prisons in Gaza.
