The Israeli Bar Association has begun to distribute questionnaires among its members, in which the lawyers will be asked to rate Israel\'s judges. The judges and lawyers had been negotiating over how best to carry this out, but the talks broke down last night, and the Association is going ahead unilaterally with its original plan. In an effort to retain some good will between the two groups, however, the Bar announced that if the results are publicized, it will only happen after the various Chief Justices have seen them first. The lawyers will be asked to state which of the judges they know fall asleep at trials and hearings, are pleasant or hostile to the participants at the trials, are familiar with the material, and the like.
