A rocket attack simulation drill has been scheduled for the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon, to be held Thursday.

Emergency rescue personnel and other officials in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon will be tested Thursday in a drill to measure their readiness in case of a rocket attack.

The drill, scheduled two months ago by Home Front Command, is intended to examine the ways in which HFC troops and various emergency rescue services coordinate their efforts during attacks.

As it happens, the exercise is taking place amidst a spate of just such attacks emanating from Gaza.

Home Front Command will simulate during the drill both a rocket attack and a multi-casualty event in a public area in Holon.

Earlier this week, Islamic Jihad and allied terrorists launched dozens of rocket and mortar attacks on communities in southern Israel.

A 56-year-old Ashkelon man was killed, at least 16 people were physically wounded, and approximately 14 others were sent to the hospital with trauma reactions and severe anxiety attacks.
