Hopes that Arafat\'s speech last night would bring about a cessation of Arab attacks against Israel were short-lived. Only hours after Yasser Arafat called upon Arabs to stop killing Jews, terrorists fired a mortar shell at an Israeli position near the Egyptian border. Also soon after the Arafat speech, Arabs firebombed an Israeli civilian car traveling east of Kiryat Gat. There were no injuries in the assaults.

- Shooting against IDF soldiers near the Arab villages of Tubas and Tamun in the northern Shomron region.
- Shooting at soldiers near the Elon Moreh Junction, east of Netanya.
- A bomb detonated near an IDF tank which was stationed to guard the community of Har Bracha.
- Gunfire directed at soldiers near Shilo, north of Jerusalem. The Israeli troops there returned fire.
- An anti-tank grenade was fired at soldiers near the town of N\'vei Dekalim, along Israel\'s southern Mediterranean coast.
- Shooting at soldiers in the Gush Etzion district, south of Jerusalem.
There were no reports of injuries in any of these attacks.
