A fire broke out at the Yesod Kor factory in Yesod Hamaalah on Friday morning. Firefighters were forced to order the evacuation of the town as the blaze raged out of control.
Police officers assisted residents in leaving the area. Officers reported that the evacuation went smoothly, with residents being directed to a nearby gas station.
Firefighters' main concern was that the fire could reach barrels of ammonia located at the plant. After determining that the ammonia was safe, they stopped evacuation efforts.
Efforts to bring the fire under control continue.
