It is still not known what caused the upper water reservoir of Kibbutz Nachal Oz, just east of the Gaza Strip, to burst open this morning. The kibbutz was flooded with 3.5 million cubic meters of water, together with a nearby IDF base and the Gaza neighborhood of Saj\'iya. This is equivalent to about two weeks\' worth of water pumped by the Lebanese from their new pumping station on one of Israel\'s main water sources, the Hatzbani River.
National Infrastructures Minister Avigdor Lieberman has established a committee to investigate the incident. Former Water Commissioner Prof. Dan Zaslavsky will head the committee. Lieberman has also ordered a comprehensive check of all of Israel\'s other reservoirs.
