In Romania last night, some 400 public figures and representatives of the Jewish community gathered for a Chanukah candle-lighting ceremony in solidarity with missing Israeli navigator Ron Arad. Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase, who met recently with Ron Arad\'s mother, also took part. Arad has been missing since being captured in Lebanon in 1986. Some 14,000 Jews currently live in Romania, and 2,500 have immigrated to Israel in the past seven years.
