The terrorists responsible for the Fogel massacre in Itamar also planned to carry out attacks in Elon Moreh and other communities in Judea and Samaria, it was revealed in IDF court proceedings on Thursday.

The two, Hakim Awad, 17, a high school student, and his partner, Amjad Awad, 18, both residents of the village Awarta, are charged with five counts of murder, deliberately stealing weapons, and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Shin Bet investigation revealed the two terrorists planned the attack in Itamar in advance. They tried to obtain firearms, according to investigators, but after failing in their mission decided to carry out a stabbing.

The IDF is said to be considering the possibility of asking for the death penalty for the Fogel murders, but no formal request has been made. The only death sentence handed down by the state of Israel since its inception was to Nazi mastermind Adolf Eichmann who was executed in 1962.

In the Eichmann verdict, Israel's High Count of Justice quoted 1 Samuel 15:33, "As your sword bereaved women, so will your mother be bereaved among women."

The IDF prosecutor in charge of the case, Captain Alon Raveh, told Walla "At this point we still are at arrest and arraignment. We will formulate a position on punishment [later]. We are charging them with very serious offenses. This is one of the most horrific acts seen in recent years."

Samaria Regional Council chairman Gershon Mesika said tonight "Israel will show the world the monstrous tumors the Palestinian Authority education system produces. We created a terrorist authority with our own hands for the Arabs of Judea and Samaria."

Mesika added that "these monsters are made in the schools of the terrorist Abu Mazen and his gang of murderers. Those abominable monsters want parts of Israel in which to establish a state."

The military court extended the remand of two men by 11 days to continue proceedings.
