The Kav LaChayim organization took 25 disabled Bar Mitzvah youths on a tour of Switzerland Thursday.
The delegation is accompanied by 28 crew members, including a volunteer-escort for each boy and girl, a doctor, a photographer and a chef.
The youths will enjoy attractions and special tours throughout Switzerland and attend a joint Bar Mitzvah party with Jewish youths in Zurich.
Many businesspeople took part in organizing the delegation, as supporters of the organization. They helped raise the funds for the trip and for gifts for the youths, including tallitot (prayer shawls) for the boys, candlesticks for the girls, siddurim (prayer books) and more.
The trip was preceded by months pf preparation. Each of the participants prepared a project about his or her roots, with the help of the volunteers, and learned about the meaning of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah coming-of-age ceremony.
