A group of Jews who were aged 1-12 during the Holocaust now demand special compensation for their lost childhoods and the suffering they experienced during the war and after it.

Unlike the adult survivors, they say, they suppressed their trauma, and the post-traumatic effect of their experiences only showed up later in their lives. "We were busy rebuilding our lives... but we never raised our voice asking for any compensation," explained Yochanan Ron, who heads the group.

The Claims Conference that handles survivor compensation claims will bring up the group's demands before the German government.
