Security crossings into Judea and Samaria are closed until after midnight Sunday night due to Nakba Day.

Those Palestinian Authority Arabs in need of medical attention, humanitarian aid or exceptional assistance will be able to pass through the crossings with authorization from the Civil Administration.

Such closure is routine and generally carried out on Jewish holidays and during times of special events which are deemed to be an especial security risk.

Nakba Day – the Arabic word for catastrophe, or disaster – is the Palestinian Authority reference to the establishment of the State of Israel.

It is commemorated with demonstrations, and in some cases riots, by PA Arabs and in some instances, by Israeli Arabs within pre-1967 Israel as well.
