Fifty outstanding IDF officers from various units received Chief of Staff awards at a ceremony on Wednesday in the Gelilot Base in Ramat HaSharon.
The officers were awarded for their “special contributions to their units” and for “serving as an exemplary example in the IDF.”
The annual ceremony was held in the IDF Hall in the Gelilot Command and Headquarters Base. It was conducted under the auspices of Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz, who gave each officer his or her award with the participation of top IDF officers.
“We face significant security and operational challenges ahead,” Gantz said at the ceremony. “The lack of stability in the Middle East, and the attempts by extremist countries to attain nuclear capability, added to terrorist activity and possible war dangers, obligate the State of Israel, which strives for peace, to maintain a powerful military force, ready and prepared for any mission. This force should be based primarily on the highest quality of its people, both professionally and personally. You, the outstanding officers, are an example of these qualities.”
