A light, one-engine plane crashed this morning into the trees near the Israel Air Force Technical School in Haifa, killing all four passengers aboard.
The plane stalled, for unknown reasons, shortly before it was to have landed, and careened to the ground inside the base. The crash caused a fire, which was extinguished by a local firefighting crew.
A Magen David Adom crew rushed to the scene, but was unable to do anything to save the victims.
Among the dead were flight instructor David Bechor, 65, from Kiryat Yam, and Mustafa Amin Darawshe of Nazareth.
