Doctors are set to strike Tuesday in clinics belonging to at least two health maintenance organizations, Leumit and Clalit.
Public hospitals are also to be included in the one-day warning strike, and will operate on a Shabbat schedule, according to the Israel Medical Association.
Most clinics will be closed on Tuesday, with selected branches to remain open in case of emergency.
The walkout follows the collapse of negotiations between the doctors' union and representatives of the Finance Ministry.
Doctors are seeking a 50 percent increase in their average wage and an increase in the number of hospital beds, for the first time since 1976.
Finance Ministry officials have countered with an offer of an 18 percent salary hike over an eight-year period.
Union management is scheduled to meet Thursday to decide whether to continue the strike next week, pending developments in talks with ministry officials.
