Half of Israel\'s citrus crop remains on the trees, unpicked. Despite the fact that the end of the season has arrived, the lack of manpower has prevented Israeli farmers from harvesting half their citrus crops. The Council for Citrus Fruits Marketing head said that in normal years, 85% of the crop has been picked by this time of year. Because of the ban on hiring workers from the Palestinian Authority, some orders from abroad have been unable to be filled and have been canceled.
