The Knesset released the stats this morning for 2010. In first place: MK Ibrahim Tsartsur, who spent over 86,500 shekels.
Tsartsur, a member of the Raam-Taal party, spent 36,000 shekels of the above sum on printing and making copies, and 18,000 on rent for a parliamentary office outside the Knesset, for which some MKs are eligible. Tsartsur said that 16,000 shekels of the above were actually spent in 2009.
In 2nd place was Jamel Zehalke, of Azmi Bashara’s Balad party, who spent over 83,000 shekels. He was closely followed by MK Uri Ariel (National Union).
MKs Benny Begin, Ehud Barak and Avigdor Lieberman – all Cabinet Ministers – did not spend any money in the framework of the “contact with voters” clause.
