Students in Ulpanat Tzfira, located in the community of Tzafria, presented this week the play ‘Tehila’, based on the famous story by S. Y. Agnon, one of the central figures of Modern Hebrew fiction who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1966, becoming the first Israeli to win a Nobel Prize.

Several days ago, teachers of literature from all around Israel came to watch Ulpanat Tzfira’s adaptation of ‘Tehila’, upon which it was decided to bring female students from around the country to see the show as well.

The purpose of putting on the play was to connect the students with literature and also to connect them to one another through the preparations for the show as well as the rehearsal process, both of which helped bring the students together socially.

The play not only connects the girls to literature but also to caring for the elderly. In the last year, many activities took place in the Ulpana which were aimed at providing students with a thorough understanding of the issue. The activities were in the form of educational classes, visits to old age homes, and joint research programs involving grandparents and grandchildren.
