Many leading hareidi rabbis have already voted. Rabbi Elyashiv has even called upon mourners - who are Halakhically forbidden from leaving their homes except for specific reasons - to vote today, as well as mothers of newborns and the elderly in old age homes. Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef voted near his home in Har Nof, Jerusalem.



Ehud Barak voted in his hometown of Kokhav Ya’ir, while Ariel Sharon was attending the brit milah (ritual circumcision) ceremony of his twin grandsons in Havat HaShikmim in the south. Sharon will vote in Beit HaKerem, Jerusalem later today.
