The Jerusalem District prosecutor’s office has recommended to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein that Rabbi Moti Elon be indicted for alleged offenses concerning two minors.
The prosecutor in effect accepted the preliminary conclusions. It is the attorney general who will decide in the future whether to proceed with charges.
Police had not opened a criminal investigation until they located a person whose complaint against Rabbi Elon was not so old that it would not stand up to legal tests.
Police were not able to begin a probe previously because alleged violations claimed by a complainant were too obsolete to be considered within the statutes of law.
