A woman from northern Israel gave birth Tuesday morning to twins at exactly 11:00 and 11:01 a.m., on the eleventh day of January 2011 (11.1.11).

The parents, Suleiman and Amani Haja of Kuakab Abu el-Haja, Israeli Arabs, meant to arrive at the hospital earlier, but were delayed by traffic. When hospital staff informed Suleiman of the unique hour at which his children were born, he said, “Who knows? Maybe it will bring them some luck in life.” [INN joins in wishing that this come true, ed.]

The babies, a boy and a girl, were the second and third child to join the Haja family. Suleiman and Amani are also parents to a four-year-old boy.

The children were born at Rambam hospital in Haifa.

Israel uses the Gregorian calendar alongside the Jewish calendar. According to the Jewish calendar, the date is quite ordinary as the month is the 10th Hebrew month of Shevat (counting from Nissan), but the day is the 7th and the year is 5771.
